A bold, eyecatching statement.
Nanbu, "the South" in Japanese, is a teapot which makes a statement. Bold, heavy, and holding nearly a litre of tea, it's hard not to comment when an object such as this is on the table.
Sizes & Colours
Such a traditional pot requires a traditional colour, and Nanbu is available in Classic Black. At 0.95L (6 to 8-cups / 4-mugs) it's big enough for most tea gatherings.
Iwachu cast iron pots make brewing leaf tea easy. Just warm the pot with hot water to get it up to temperature, pop the leaves in the basket, add boiling water and steep for the appropriate time. As each teapot comes with a fitted stainless steel basket, there's no need to use a tea strainer.
Maintenance & Cleaning
Maintaining your piece of functional iron art is also a doddle.
Thanks to the handy enamelled interior, when you've finished using it (ideally whilst it's still hot) you just need to give it a rinse out and dry inside and out with a cloth.
Quality comes as standard with Iwachu, one of Japan's most respected foundries, and they are proud of their history. All the pots come in gift boxes containing a booklet detailing how to look after your teapot, with some of the history of the factory and the manufacturing process.
